God does not need you! What a way to start an article, right? To be told that God doesn’t need you can be hurtful and insulting. Let me clarify when I say God doesn’t need you, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you. God loves you enormously, but he doesn’t need you. He doesn’t need you to do anything for Him. God is self-sufficient and complete, so He doesn’t need anything outside of Himself. 

This concept may be new to you, and for obvious reasons, it is not preached or taught anywhere from the pulpit or classroom. It gives off the impression that God doesn’t care or is unloving, which causes some to deny it aggressively.. ‘How dare you tell me God doesn’t need me? That’s not what the Bible says,’ they would say. The Bible doesn’t say directly that God doesn’t need us, but it is implied in His nature and attributes (Acts 17:24-25; Psalms 50:10-12).

Why do you disagree with Calvinism? What part of Calvinism are you against? I am not asking these to convince you to believe in Calvinism, but I would like to highlight some important concerns regarding free will theology. I’ve asked myself these questions many times. What is it about Calvinism that bothered me so much? Why am I “offended” when I hear about Calvinism? One reason for rejecting Calvinism was that my love did not feel real or originate from me. If God is in control of all things, then the choices I make are not my own but forced by God. What worth would life have if we are not in control? We aim to avoid anything that attempts to compromise human autonomy. My argument is to bring to light some conflicts I’ve struggled with and how I came to accept Calvinism as the correct theological interpretation on the subject of predestination. Why You Struggle With Sin

Do you struggle with sin? Have you tried everything you could, yet still cannot overcome sin? Do you have that one nagging sin that keeps coming back? How To Read Romans 9

Probably the most controversial chapter in the whole Bible could be designated to Romans 9. The chapter covers the sovereignty of God over all creation. Many Calvinist’s use Romans 9 to support and teach predestination, while those who disagree with predestination refute the doctrine. The reason Romans 9 causes such controversy to people is the notion of God being in control over all things. Apostol Paul wrote the book to the Church in Rome during his time due to the rise in questions and controversies in the church. The problem is not the writings or concepts in the chapter, but rather the approach of the person reading the chapter. What I mean is how you read Romans 9 will determine if you understand the true meaning of it, verses walking away upset and confused. The Sin Of Unused Talents

What a waste. I opened my pantry door and found unopened jars of expired strawberry jam. I thought to myself, this could have fed my family for months, enjoying a sandwich here, or topping it on a bowl of ice cream there. We had to throw it out even though it was unopened. The date has passed too long to take a risk. It was a waste of a good product. The feeling of throwing away something with so much usefulness is so disheartening, especially to the one who hopes in it. I am not referring to the jar of jam anymore, but rather the talents and gifts God gives individuals. God has a reason for giving us our gifts. Our life’s journey is to find out what that purpose is. The parable in Matthew 25:14-30 reveals this message from Jesus as he taught. It is joy to discover and utilize your gift to its maximum potential. But what about those who never find their talents? What happens to the person who ignores or neglects their talents?
