Arguments Against Free-Will Theology: Part 1
Why do you disagree with Calvinism? What part of Calvinism are you against? I am not asking these to convince you to believe in Calvinism, but I would like to highlight some important concerns regarding free will theology. I’ve asked myself these questions many times. What is it about Calvinism that bothered me so much? Why am I “offended” when I hear about Calvinism? One reason for rejecting Calvinism was that my love did not feel real or originate from me. If God is in control of all things, then the choices I make are not my own but forced by God. What worth would life have if we are not in control? We aim to avoid anything that attempts to compromise human autonomy. My argument is to bring to light some conflicts I’ve struggled with and how I came to accept Calvinism as the correct theological interpretation on the subject of predestination. Let me take you on this journey that changed my life.
