Arguments Against Free-Will Theology: Part 3

God does not need you! What a way to start an article, right? To be told that God doesn’t need you can be hurtful and insulting. Let me clarify when I say God doesn’t need you, it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love you. God loves you enormously, but he doesn’t need you. He doesn’t need you to do anything for Him. God is self-sufficient and complete, so He doesn’t need anything outside of Himself.

This concept may be new to you, and for obvious reasons, it is not preached or taught anywhere from the pulpit or classroom. It gives off the impression that God doesn’t care or is unloving, which causes some to deny it aggressively.. ‘How dare you tell me God doesn’t need me? That’s not what the Bible says,’ they would say. The Bible doesn’t say directly that God doesn’t need us, but it is implied in His nature and attributes (Acts 17:24-25; Psalms 50:10-12).

Arguments Against Free-Will Theology: Part 1

Why do you disagree with Calvinism? What part of Calvinism are you against? I am not asking these to convince you to believe in Calvinism, but I would like to highlight some important concerns regarding free will theology. I’ve asked myself these questions many times. What is it about Calvinism that bothered me so much? Why am I “offended” when I hear about Calvinism? One reason for rejecting Calvinism was that my love did not feel real or originate from me. If God is in control of all things, then the choices I make are not my own but forced by God. What worth would life have if we are not in control? We aim to avoid anything that attempts to compromise human autonomy. My argument is to bring to light some conflicts I’ve struggled with and how I came to accept Calvinism as the correct theological interpretation on the subject of predestination. Let me take you on this journey that changed my life.

Why You Struggle With Sin

Do you struggle with sin? Have you tried everything you could, yet still cannot overcome sin? Do you have that one nagging sin that keeps coming back? Do you question your salvation, God’s faithfulness, and your ability to repent? These questions and many more are important issues that everyone believer must confront and deal with. Guilt and shame overwhelm us when we fail or stumble in our walk with Christ. I have often questioned whether I was truly saved or if I have been fooling myself. But I still struggle with my sins, even after many years of walking with Christ. My faith has many ups and downs as life feels like riding the ocean waves. Some days I’ve felt good and conquered my weaknesses, while on others I’ve groveled back in the pig sty. Why do we struggle with sin, even after accepting God’s grace? Why do we continue to sin if we know Christ suffered and died for our sins? Have we not repented, and if so, does that disqualify our salvation? Have you been on the battlefield fighting sin all your life and still feel like you get knocked down over and over again, wondering when it will end? Will you ever conquer and overcome your sins? Read on to find out more.

How To Read Romans 9

Probably the most controversial chapter in the whole Bible could be designated to Romans 9. The chapter covers the sovereignty of God over all creation. Many Calvinist’s use Romans 9 to support and teach predestination, while those who disagree with predestination refute the doctrine. The reason Romans 9 causes such controversy to people is the notion of God being in control over all things. Apostol Paul wrote the book to the Church in Rome during his time due to the rise in questions and controversies in the church. The problem is not the writings or concepts in the chapter, but rather the approach of the person reading the chapter. What I mean is how you read Romans 9 will determine if you understand the true meaning of it, verses walking away upset and confused. If you haven’t read Romans 9, or have forgotten what it says, then take a pause and before continuing this article and read the chapter. Then come back and read the article. This article is organized in a specific structure. Follow the instructions step by step as you read to achieve the best results. May God bless you and open your eyes to the beauty of Romans 9.

The Sin Of Unused Talents

What a waste. I opened my pantry door and found unopened jars of expired strawberry jam. I thought to myself, this could have fed my family for months, enjoying a sandwich here, or topping it on a bowl of ice cream there. We had to throw it out even though it was unopened. The date has passed too long to take a risk. It was a waste of a good product. The feeling of throwing away something with so much usefulness is so disheartening, especially to the one who hopes in it. I am not referring to the jar of jam anymore, but rather the talents and gifts God gives individuals. God has a reason for giving us our gifts. Our life’s journey is to find out what that purpose is. The parable in Matthew 25:14-30 reveals this message from Jesus as he taught. It is joy to discover and utilize your gift to its maximum potential. But what about those who never find their talents? What happens to the person who ignores or neglects their talents?

The Danger of “Buffet Christianity”: Why True Theology Matters

Have you noticed how Christianity today seems to be shifting? It feels like people are picking and choosing what parts of the Bible they want to follow, as if they were filling their plates at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Whatever tastes good or fits easily into their lifestyle, they take. Whatever feels uncomfortable, challenging, or too costly, they leave behind.

All Dogs Go To Heaven?

In 1989, Don Bluth directed a children’s animation titled *All Dogs Go to Heaven*. The movie’s premise asserts that all dogs go to heaven because they are loyal and good. For dog owners, the title conveys the comforting idea that their beloved pets will find a place in heaven. While this message is heartwarming, it raises a deeper question: What does the Bible say about animals? Although many may see this topic lightheartedly, those who have lost pets may feel a strong need for answers. Losing a cherished companion after many years together brings genuine sorrow and a sense of loss. So, what is the role of animals, especially domesticated pets, and where do they go after they die? Are they here to enhance our lives, or is it the reverse? I will attempt to explore these questions, but it’s important to note that the Bible remains somewhat unclear. Let’s seek to uncover any answers to this vital question.
